Band Kris release brand new single “Everybody Cries at Night”

The Band Kris is a sister music duo who have just dropped their brand new single “Everybody Cries at Night” . Steeped in adrenaline but chill-inducing in a way that is only possible when a sense of urgency finds no relief, the beats that power the backend of  Band Kris’s“Everybody Cries at Night” are much a cornerstone of the duo’s construction of a narrative in this track.

“Everybody Cries at Night” has commercial appeal and it more than adequately conveys the confidence and sensuality behind so much of the tune and stands as a wonderfully complete first expression of identity from Band Kris.

The song has a hell of a production job setting it apart from the work her contemporaries do. Band Kris sounds like a throwback of sorts, equal parts pop superstars in the making and backbreaker singer with ample soul to burn. We decided to catch up with the duo for an exclusive interview with Camden Monthly…

What inspired you to get into music?
It actually started with us making really terrible songs as kids and making our parents sit down to watch our “concerts” in the living room. We were always creating things together whether it was a song, a musical, or a dance. Also, we have always been inspired by Taylor Swift so we taught ourselves our instruments (piano and guitar) by learning how to play her songs. We were (and still are) obsessed with her!

How would you describe your music?
We ride along with the genres of country and pop. Some of our songs will have feel-good pop energy. Other times, our songs will get so deep we’ll have to ask ourselves, “can we even put that out there?”

What would you say is your recording and songwriting style?
Our recording and songwriting style is always based on what music we are currently listening to at the time. We love finding new music to inspire us. Right now, our style has been inspired by the bass. We love when the bass is super loud in a song!

Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years time?
We would love to have an album out (or maybe more?). We have so many songs we want to put out there so our hope is in 5 years we will be able to fund that! Our career so far has been focused on releasing singles so we really hope to release an album soon (or at least sometime before 5 years!).
Of course, we always hope to expand our fan base. So maybe in 5 years, we will have an album and more fans haha!
