‘Hindsight’ is the brand new modern pop twist on 80’s synth rock song from The Catalina, a band from Minneapolis who it seems from ‘Hindsight’ draw their influences from acts like The Police, The Night Game, and many more. Lead vocalist and guitarist James Howard, Adam Hepner (drums), and Justin Jacobs (guitar) channel their experiences into ‘Hindsight’ with a brilliant perspective in songwriting and telling a story in perspective or in hindsight. The result is a song that captures the hearts of listeners. sense of a out of world experience, full of vibes and context which allows James to tell a story of an isolated state. Close your eyes and enjoy your imagination whilst listening to this record.
‘Hindsight‘ has all the ingredients required to deliver some good old, head nodding, alternative rock. If like me, you grew up on a diet of Kerrang in the early noughties, then you will find much to like about their sound. It puts you in mind of a whole host of bands whose patches were sewn onto my list of classics. If this is blowing away some cobwebs in your memory then The Catalina are well worth checking out. ‘Hindsight’, the new single from their debut is a great place to start.
